HellRPS is a single-player, offline rhythm-driven fighting game that reimagines Rock-Paper-Scissors as a timing- and prediction-based combat loop. In HellRPS each gesture is timed: attacks, recovery windows and counters matter as much as which move you choose, and a short guided first-battle tutorial helps new players learn the core rhythm. The game runs on Windows and Android, saves progress locally with no ads or in-app purchases, and presents a compact, self-contained package for players who prefer offline, single-player experiences.
The core system blends classic Rock-Paper-Scissors outcomes with real-time inputs and recovery frames. Winning an exchange extends your combo and opens opportunities to chain consecutive hits; ties preserve the combo while losses reset it. Beyond the basic gestures, HellRPS introduces move advantage windows and short recovery periods where a correctly timed counter can interrupt an opponent. Players can equip one Minor Skill and one Ultimate Skill that modify available move recipes or provide situational benefits, encouraging different approaches to timing and combo construction without adding online complexity.
Progression in HellRPS is driven by mastering opponent patterns and recording clears across three difficulty tiers: Easy, Normal, and Hard. Each opponent has distinct tendencies and move histories to study; success depends on reading those patterns, exploiting openings during recovery, and planning skill usage to extend combos. The current development build tracks clears and challenge records locally so players can see improvement over repeated runs. Because the emphasis is on timing and prediction, replaying encounters with different skill loadouts or targeting longer combos provides meaningful variety even with a limited roster of five opponents.
Controls are intentionally simple and consistent across platforms. On Windows you can use the mouse or numbered keys to select moves and time inputs, while Android uses direct tap controls optimized for touch. The integrated first-battle tutorial explains the timing loop, and the English interface keeps instructions clear for new players. The game does not require an online account and stores saves locally, making it a privacy-friendly option for players who prefer straightforward, accessible gameplay without cloud dependencies.
The visual presentation leans toward stylized fantasy art with character designs and suggestive imagery used for thematic flavor; content remains non-explicit and player discretion is advised. Audio and effect design focus on clarity of feedback: sounds and animations emphasize hit confirmations, recovery windows and successful combos so timing information is communicated clearly during play. Audio source and license attributions are included in the bundled AUDIO_CREDITS.md file for transparency.
This release is version 0.3.6-English (Development Build) and adds the English interface plus the guided first-battle tutorial while preserving the 0.3.5 counter-combat rules and art assets. Hard difficulty no longer supports a multi-move queue but still allows one prepared move during recovery, increasing the emphasis on on-the-fly decision-making. Windows users receive a x64 ZIP that should be fully extracted; the bundled Java runtime and app folders must remain adjacent to the executable. Android users should install the APK as an update to preserve existing progress; do not uninstall the previous app or clear its data. If the device reports a signature conflict, retain the existing installation and contact the developer before proceeding. System requirements: 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, or Android 12L (API 32) or newer. Internet is not required to play.
Replayability in HellRPS comes from skill refinement, experimenting with different Minor and Ultimate Skill combinations, and attempting longer combo chains against tougher opponents. The development build status means some features and balance decisions remain in progress: the roster is currently limited to five opponents and certain modes and polish are still pending. Players who want a focused, offline test of timing-based combat will find repeatable challenges here, and developers welcome bug reports and constructive feedback to improve future builds.
